About the role

Product performance and quality are our highest priorities.  We are looking to recruit a Quality Control Inspector to join our team to ensure that our products meet our high standards in relation to quality, performance and safety. This role will be based in our head office in Northumberland and will work closely with the Product Development, Design and Supply Chain teams. The ideal candidate will have experience of monitoring and delivering quality requirements in an apparel development and production. They will be passionate about quality and product compliance, have exceptional attention to detail and be able to work at a fast pace to multiple deadlines. The role will involve visits to our factories in Asia so any applicants must be able to and prepared to travel.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out QC checks in accordance with the set AQL standards
  • Work with the UK warehouse team to access inspection stock
  • Bulk QC checks upon arrival include:
  1. Checking product specification
  2. Product measurement accuracy
  3. Product construction quality
  4. Packaging
  5. Non-compliance issues
  6. Produce arrival inspection report
  • Plan 3rd party in-line and final inspections with suppliers
  • Create a watchlist of identified issues and ensure that the appropriate checks are carried out when stock arrives
  • Report any issues to suppliers and work with them to resolve
  • Arrange 3rd party inspections and rectification when required
  • Produce periodic reports summarising inspection data and flagging any known issues
  • Analyse customer returns data taking appropriate action when issues are identified
  • Work with the Design & Development team to solve known bulk issues
  • Engage with the Design & Development Team at final prototype to implement bulk quality standards for application to salesman samples
  • Review salesman samples with the Design & Development Team to ensure bulk quality standards have been met. Where issues are identified work with the Design & Development Team to resolve
  • Review pre-production samples with the Design & Development Team to ensure standards have been met ahead of proceeding to bulk production
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and compliance
  • Regular trips to Asian suppliers to carry out QC inspections as well as accompanying the Design & Development Team on supplier visits

Key Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working in Quality Control Inspection in apparel development and production businesses
  • Good understanding of product development, production, and distribution processes
  • Good knowledge of sizing and fits
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and deadline management
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships
  • Confident and assertive
  • Continuous improvement focused
  • Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office experience

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
